Tyree Riggs
Tyree Riggs is an emerging young artist whose favorite medium is metal. She has been welding since she was sixteen, when she went to work at the shop of a family friend. The complexities of the “learning by doing” approach to the utilitarian side of welding nurtured Tyree’s appreciation for metalwork and inspired her to explore the more artistic side of things. The evolution of that inspiration can be seen in much of her artwork. Born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Tyree made her debut on the local art scene back in 2006 at the age of 21 when she created two large copper fountains for the Fountains of Wishes Community Art Project. She has since been commissioned and completed 3 more large public art sculptures for the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission. Tyree Riggs has been showing at The Art Spirit Gallery since 2010.
