EXHIBITION STATEMENT

In this exhibition Steve Adams is expanding his interests beyond the boundaries of his signature blown glass into new directions. In addition to showing his classic blown vessels and unique lighting fixtures, Adams is unveiling a range of recent kiln-fired glass works that include outdoor sculpture, wall panels and a glass table. Whether it is welded rusted steel sculpture, blown glass vessels or kiln carved wall art, all of his pieces possess a fluid sense of grace and movement.

Adams says: “After more than 35 years of making glass, the work still captivates me. Molten glass is such a seductive force. I’m constantly searching for something I’m not quite sure of -- maybe simply a translucent form that grabs me at the moment, maybe more. All mysteries seem to be locked inside the glowing mass. At times, it feels like I’m riding a wave of energy -- exploring infinite possibilities to see where they lead.”
