EXHIBITION STATEMENT

The Art Spirit Gallery is proud to hold another exclusive exhibit for Spokane artist Robert Grimes containing over fifty works. This show and sale titled “Dancing with the Eye” will include ten new carved wood relief panels and 15 new oil paintings.

 

Robert is known throughout the Northwest for his intricate, three-dimensional “paintings on carved wood” that are designed to hang on the wall and take on the aesthetic qualities of both oil painting and sculpture. One unique piece,Master of Ceremonies, incorporates 35 diamonds and hundreds of pin heads to create a Milky Way star field in the background. Each diamond is in a custom setting made by Robert’s son Steffan and meticulously mounted in the wooden background.
